Amina Tirmizi began her pursuit of sacred knowledge in 2006 studying under esteemed scholars throughout North America.
She formally began her training on the path of Tazkiyah under the mentorship of Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar (db) from Chicago. Her commitment to this transformative journey is ongoing, as she consistently derives profound guidance from Shaykh Husain's teachings, shaping her spiritual development and understanding of Tazkiyah.
She earned a degree in Psychology and English from Stony Brook University. She completed Dars-e-Nizami from Wifaqul Madaris al Arabiya and attained the Alimiyyah degree alongside a double Masters in Islamic Sciences and Arabic.
Building on her foundational knowledge, she dedicated two additional years to specialize in Islamic Law & Legal Theory (Takhassus fil Figh), with a focus on Women's Issues.
She founded Sumaiyah Institute, an educational institution committed to guiding women in classical Islamic learning and spirituality. She also initiated Sister's Islamic Forum, an online platform offering women access to beneficial Islamic knowledge and timely responses to their Islamic fiqhi questions.
A dedicated mother of five, she recently relocated to the Chicago land area, drawn by the vibrant Islamic community and promising educational opportunities in the region. Her relocation reflects a commitment to fostering strong values and spiritual growth in her children, while also seeking to actively contribute to and enhance the well-being of the community.
